FOR YOUR INFORMATION
Handicap cards are required for Men’s Night events. If your card is not current you will play as though you do not have a handicap.
All games are nine-hole rounds except closing tournament. Each night costs $5.00 plus a $2.00 deuce pot option.
Registration begins each Tuesday morning.
There will be an 18-hole Tombstone Tournament on Saturday September 12 starting at Noon. Cost will be $5.00 per person if you have played in at least 4 other Men’s Night event. If you have not played in at least 4 other events cost will be $5.00 plus $5.00 for the number of nights you are less than 4 nights ($25.00) maximum. There will be food served and prizes distributed after the tournament.
Don’t forget the weekly dinner special available before or after each evening. Rib Eye Steak with all the trimmings.
Format Rules
Defender
A rotation is established for the foursome to be maintained throughout the round. The rotation does not have to be hitting order, just for scoring purposes. Player A is the "defender" of the first hole; player B defends the second hole and so on.
If the defender posts the lowest net score on "his" hole, he earns 4 points and each other player loses 2 points. If any player posts a lower net score than the defender on that hole, the defender loses 4 points and each other player gains 2 points. If the defender ties at least one other player for low net score, the defender scores 2 points and each other player loses 1 point. Point totals are kept throughout the round and the person with the most point’s wins.

Alternate Stroke
This is a two-person NET team event. In alternate shot one player tees off and then the team alternates shots until the ball is holed. The team will also alternate tee shots. If player A1 tees off of hole number 1 (or 10) then he will tee off at each odd hole (or each even hole if started on 10). Player A2 would then tee off on the even numbered holes (or odd if started on hole 10)
Handicaps: 90% if team’s average handicap
6 - 4 - 2 - 0
Each hole has a total point value of 12 points. Players earn points as follows
| Best Score (net) |
6 points |
| Second best score (net) |
4 points |
| Third best score (net) |
2 points |
| Worst score (net) |
0 points |
In the case of a tie for best score between two players, the first and second points are evenly split. The two tied players would get 5 points each. Should 3 players tie for best score, the first, second and third points are evenly split. The three tied players would get 4 points each. If all four players tie for best score, they split the twelve points evenly. Ties for second best score, third best score or worst score are split in the same manner. The winner is the player with the most points.

By the Book
If you play by the book, that is hit the fairway off the tee, hit the green in regulation, 2 putt or better and hit pars and birdies, you’ll do just fine. What ever you do, don’t 3 putt or you’ll lose points you’ve won on the hole. If you hit worse than a 3 putt you lose every point you had, gone, bye-bye, see you later. The player with the most points accumulated at the end of 9 holes in the winner. Net scores counts for pars or birdies, but not for greens in regulation or fairways hit.
| Birdie or better |

| More than 3 putts |

Ace in the Hole
Teams consist of A,B,C,D players. Everyone plays the first hole and chooses 1 net score for the score of that hole. That person cannot be used till the other people have counted a score. The person who tees off on the 4th and the 8th hole is the Ace in the hole.

Stableford
Stableford is a points system. On each hole players add or subtract points based on their net score. The points assigned are as follows:
| Double Eagle |
8 |
| Eagle |
5 |
| Birdie |
2 |
| Par |
0 |
| Bogey |
-1 |
| Other |
-3 |

Any Hole
As the name suggests Any Hole is played by removing the flagsticks and allowing players to play their shot to any of the holes on the green. No more complaining about being in the wrong location in this game and the luckiest of the group will walk away with the prize money.

Chicago
Chicago is a point’s method, based on handicaps, that keeps track of how players are doing as they play the round. The maximum number of points a player can start with for nine holes is 20 (for a scratch golfer). Point totals decrease by 1/2 for each addition of one to the handicap (e.g. a one handicap would start with 19.5 points, 2 handicap 19 points, 10 handicap 15 points, etc). As they play the players subtract points from their total (sometimes called their "hurdle") based on their score on each hole. Points are scored as follows:
| 1 Point |
For each bogey |
| 2 Points |
For each par |
| 4 Points |
For each birdie |
| 8 Points |
For each eagle |
| 12 Points |
For each double eagle |
The winner is the player with the lowest point total (could be a minus number).

Pinehurst
Both players on a team tee off. Each hits the other's ball for their second shot. The pair then chooses the best ball after the two shots. From that point on it is alternate shot.
Handicaps: Team Handicap is 85% of the average of the two players handicaps.
The Grid
A template is made up and it is unknown to all golfers. Players record their net scores on the scorecard and the template will be placed over the card at the end of the round. One golfers score is selected by the grid card for each hole at the end of the night and is scored accordingly.
Handicaps: Full
Las Vegas
Each team of two add their net scores together, so if they both had fours the score is 44. If the scores were different then the scoring depends on how you fared to par. If one of you got a par or better you would take the lower score first. For example a 4 and 6 on a par 5 scores 46. If you are both above par, say on a par three, then you take the higher score first giving 64.
The lowest total over the nine holes wins.
Handicaps: Full
Four Ball - Stroke Play
In four-ball stroke play two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower net score of the partners is the score for the hole. If one partner fails to complete the play of a hole, there is no penalty.
Handicaps: Full
Tombstone
Each player is given a set number of strokes to play their round of golf. The number of strokes is your current handicap plus the course rating. So if you were a 15 handicap you would get 84 strokes to play your round of golf (15 Handicap + 69 Course Rating). Once you have used up all of your strokes your round is over and the player places a tombstone (cross) with their name on it where their final shot has come to rest. If you still have strokes left after playing 18 holes then you would go back to hole number 1 and start again until all of your strokes have been used up. The player that places their tombstone the furthest away from the starting hole wins the tournament.
